Title: Hi Yo Silver Streak
Post by: 19Sheridan57 on February 11, 2015, 07:27:36 AM
I never get tired of Sheridans & took my 1957 Silver Streak out to shoot, again. This time, I borrowed a chrony from a friend. " Silver " was resealed awhile back & is a joy to shoot. I ran a couple of strings of different pellets @ 8 pumps & here are the results.

JSB Diablo Exact avg. 686 fps
Benjamin Sheridan     646

The JSB's deliver a little better accuracy . All fit perfectly & there was very little deviation in the fps they produced.
The Benjamin Sheridans shoot well but not as accurate as the JSB's. I contribute some of this to the fact that they are a little inconsistent in how they fit plus the difference in the speed. THESE DO penetrate better than the JSB's , however , & I would recommend these for hunting.

Know the feeling. Been shooting some vintage Dans quite a bit lately myself. Have 2 fifties Dans, '55 BS and '56-'58 (near as I can figger) BS and my oldest Silver Streak is a '63.

Recently started shooting some .20 JSBs. Had been shooting Baracudas and FTTs. Like 'em and they are less expensive! My Chrony has been in storage since I moved 2 years ago and after getting over the anxiety of not being able to check velocities, I've been happy just shooting and adapting to whatever the individual airgun will do. Got an R1 .22 w/ a new (2 yr ago) kit (PG2) install and don't know what velocity it shoots but still having fun with it.

I bought another Silver Streak, today it is about the same year as my other one.
