well guys i have lots of time on my hands so i decided to sand the stock down on my titan , i have not put any shiny on it yet. i might just put a good coat of wax instead of clear . but give me your thoughts. thanks david

I've been trying to darken up a beech stock - what did you use ? Seems everything I try never looks like I think it's going to look.

Very, very nice indeed.... Good job, looks sharp.. I say give it a couple of coats of hand rubbed wax and make it really shine ;)
The more I look at the pics of these Titans the more I want to run down to Wallyworld and snag one....

my buddy says they remind him of a more expensive gun. he has a RWS 48 in .22 and he says the smooth cocking, and short firing stroke reminds him of his rifle.
-
A few coats of Formbys tongue oil rubbed out by hand and you will have a great finish.
-
Dave, sending you my titan stock... :-D
-
i used a mahogany stain just plain stian no shiny, i put a couple coats on buffing each coat with steel wool, i am going to wax it now, mayby !!! whats that stuff chortdraw ??? thanks david
-
Thanks. Make sure to write down a step by step so I'll know what the heck it is I'm trying to do - lol.

Looks sweet as is !

You can get it at WalMart. It has instructions on how to apply each application and etc: I have used it on many of my bows I built. I have done some in a high sheen and a satin sheen. Brings out the grain and the more coats the deeper the grain looks.
-
Looks pretty darn good to me.
-
thank you chortdraw, i am going to try that i will post the results, i have finished a few rifle stocks in my time one of the best i ever did i took a torch and lightley ran it back and forth across a stock after i sanded it, it raised the grain up and of course turned it black i buffed it real good with a couple different grades of steel wool and then sealed it, it looked like a black stain with all the wood grain showing thanks david
-
Stock looks great! much better than from the factory
-
David,
thats looks great man!!! I like darker woods on stocks and that sure turned out purty
-
Now that makes a nice shooter look really nice!
-
i reckon your not worried about having to return it to wally
-
i quess not i have around 2 thousand pellets through it and it still shoots around 720, and i would buy another. thanks david
