Here’s an update on my Hatsan model 125 in .25. I purchased it back in December from Midway USA cause A. it was a good deal and B. cause I though about swapping out the barrel w/ my Hatsan 135 to make it .25 cal. So I got the gun and shot it some in the basement. I do like the gun but the power seemed somewhat less than I hoped for and expected. With Hatsan Vortex and Benjamin dome pellets it averaged 724 and 599 fps respectively, at 4770 FASL (feet above sea level.) with the metal spring Recoil was stout with some vibration. I ordered a replacement seal from J Macarri at Air Rifle Headquarters. I installed the seal un-sized and used just the smallest amount of Maccari moly. After about 20 shots the velocity seems to be stabilizing nicely. It now is at 770 and 640 respectively. I only those 2 types of pellets right now, but I will try some others. Recoil is still there but the vibration is all but gone. J M seals rock!

My 135 Vortex in .25 (I think pretty much the same powerplant as the 125) also surprised me by being a little slower than I was expecting (650 fps with the Benjamin Discovery 27.8 grain, 740 fps with the H&N 19.91), worked out to 25 fpe with both pellets. I was expecting over 30 fpe based on what I'd read elsewhere.
I got a new JM seal for it but haven't yet torn into it to replace it. Sounds like I might benefit from doing so.

Since your Vortex ram, is adjustable in power, you should start by checking to see that it is up at around 120-130 bar.
