Title: PA's scoped Beeman R9
Post by: Oldgringo on February 03, 2015, 07:17:53 PM
How is the Bushnell Banner 4-12 scope holding up on the R9 combo package from PA?  Just askin' becau$e...... ???

I'm :D with that same scope on my R7 but a R7 doesn't have the oomph of a R9.

Hi, Greg!   That is just what I got when I ordered my R9.  I went through two of those 4x12 Bushnells, nice scopes but didn't work for me.  I now have a 4x16 Hawke Varmint with half mil dot, also a nice scope and seems to be holding up well.

The Bushnel Banner 4-12 scope that I got on my R9 when I ordered the combo package from PA is holding up fine. I have about 6,000 rounds through it (.177) and it has held zero perfectly. As it is right now, I would not hesitate to buy the same package again. However, that's just  been my experience with it. I guess others have had different experiences, but with PA's 30 day guarantee, I dont see how you can go wrong. There are better scopes to be sure. Although, like with everything, you get what you pay for. For me, the R9 combo was worth every penny I spent, plus a whole lot more.

I wrote a review of the R9 Elite Combo on PA back in June 2014. My opinion of it has only increased since then!

Thanks guys.  Once I make some room in the safe (sell something), I think I want a R9 to go with my R7.

Just my opinion, but you won't regret it!  ;)

;D Greg if it is as smooth and pretty as the RX2 it is going to amaze. Right now I am thinking about Giving my father in law my sweet shooting D34P to clear some space for a HW 97 in .22. + it will make some points with the wife and that way I have a decent shooter up there to play with  ::) ::) ::)

I got one of the combos from PA for christmas. I only have about 700 rounds through it, but the scope is holding up fine, hasn't shifted on the rails at all despite no stop pin in place.

It came mounted.

I do wish it had mildots instead of the duplex reticle, but it's not something that's going to make me drop more cash on a different scope.

The AO seems waaaay off. I get the best focus in my 27 yard backyard range with the scope set to about 70 yards.

A question for my fellow GTA members about scope combos. I wonder if a new gun is still dieseling factory lube that that might break a scope that would have held up after it smoothed out?

I don't think dieseling will create any problems.  RC

I have had this combo for about 8 months now. The scope is holding up fine despite the rather disturbing buzz that the R9 has. I have lube tuned the rifle with JM lubes but the buzz is disconcerting.

Last time I shot the R9 I noticed that the scope had shifted back in the rings. Not the scopes fault. The rings have that anti slip tape in them but it slipped right on back with the scope LOL.

With PA you get the no hassle return so no worries. I can't fault the scope at this point.
