Title: Spoiled by Hatsan!
Post by: Mikeflys on January 24, 2015, 02:35:25 PM
Out to the range today, took my Hatsan AT44 and my good old trusty 10/22. I used to love shooting my 10/22. No mods right off the shelf, it is a fun gun. I have been shooting my Hatsan a lot since I purchased it. Out at the range I shot 50 rounds through the Hatsan. Put the 25 round mag in my 10/22 and took aim. Tried to pull the trigger, I thought I had left the safety on. No it was ready to fire, Took aim again and yanked on the trigger. Wow what a difference, I had gotten used to the Quattro trigger. So nice and smooth, I think I am going to have to invest some money into trigger upgrades for my 10/22 to make it as nice!

Yeah Mikeflys,
The Quattro on the AT44's is Hatsan's best version, followed by the one on the Galatian.  The Springer's, Quattro incarnation is not very good out-of-the-box (relatively speaking) and needs some serious mods to make it almost as good as the AT44 version.  The reason for the crudeness of design; it's holding back a very strong (compression) main spring and the manufacturers want to be safe/conservative!  The Springer's, Quattro mods will leave you with a trigger that requires :o careful attention :P to be excellent/safe, but certainly raises the bar on accuracy ;)

Once this is higher level is obtained, it hard to go back to blah, blah......blah.

Really like the trigger on my AT 44 too. It is turned to the point of acting more like a single stage which is what I prefer and compared to my springer it is so much nicer.

I don't know what Hatsan USA did, but somehow the trigger on my stock at44 qe was pretty awful, like a bad springer trigger, tried to adjust it good, messed up, sent it in, they fixed it and sent it back and now it feels like the best trigger ever
