Title: Next rifle
Post by: texasairgunner11 on January 22, 2015, 09:34:35 PM
Hey guys ordering my next gun tonight, still don't have my heart set yet. Needs to be pretty quiet because I think we are moving into town sadly :-\ But I will be shooting birds and such with it until then. Really can't spend more the 180 I was thinking Benjamin trail. Probably be shooting squirrels and such out to the max of 45 yards! Thx guys!

You know.... for 180 you can probably find a really nice older Sheridan or Benjamin 342. Just a suggestion.

Look at my post! Right before yours. Ruger Impact in .22cal. It is a springer, and has a lot of punch. It is very accurate. I have chronographed it at 1137 FPS 45.7 FI. with RWS Superdome 14.5gr pellets. It cost $120 at Wal-Mart.  It has a very nice stock and is worth twice that.

X2. the advantage of the pumper is, you can vary the power, as well as the relative loudness by the number of pumps. that might be a consideration, seeing as you may become a "townie" soon.

I second the need to recheck your chrony. I have had very good luck with the hatsan 95 in .22  the one I bought for my brother, it prints nickel size 5 shot at 30 yards with the cheap 3x9 it comes with and makes 19ft lb

Just my 2-cents but the umerax octane in 22cal from P.A. is 199.99. Use Welcome-PA code drops it to 180 with free shipping. The gun is powerful and fairly quiet with it's suppressor. It also shoots well with the right pellet. It is however heavy at about 10 pounds. It's scope is one of the better ones as far as I am concerned. Best wishes on whatever you decide to get.

Ended up not ordering last night, I wanted to hold off, I think im going with the trail synthetic 22, but if I find I dislike it, I will trade it in for the octane. I fully trust PA will easily let me return it! Thx guys! ;D ;)

I hear ya... they don't come around everyday but, they do come around. Most people that have them keep them unless their hobby leans more towards buying, selling and trading. I bought quite a few newer guns before I got my hands on a nice classic. Now I want to trade virtually all my new stuff for the classic. I have a few I will keep. I've got a great Nitro Venom in .177 and a nice Vantage NP. Also have 2 Mike Mellick tuned XS-25s in .22 that will never leave me and a few others. Kinda like motorcycles... it don't really matter what you ride as long as you enjoy your knees in the breeze... I happen to prefer my Harley. Would I trade my modded 2240 .177 bugout carbines for a nice '61 - '85 Sheridan? .... in a flippin heartbeat! Would I give up 3 Daisy 880? ... yup. Or how about my 2 Crosman 2100 with after market walnut stocks?  ubetcha.. without even blinking and eye.
