As MANY of the top sellers of HPA tanks often state ... UNLESS YOU HAVE MEANS OF FILLING, Do Not Purchase one !

The SCBA ( Breathing Air ) systems can often be filled by Fire departments or those in the industry of emergency rescue air if located close enough.
The smaller bottles use FOSTER type filling and can be filled where one gets Paintball HPA tanks filled.

BIG bottles are inconvenient to carry, but convenient for having MANY fills available.
SMALL bottles are carry friendly but require frequent refilling.

Yup, lots of options to ponder !!

Search ebay for a few weeks. Note its manufacture date, and divide cost by years remaining. You'll find some young ones a year or two 'til their first hydro for $25/year. While you're at it, calculate cost/year for the new ones.
cheers,
Douglas

I bought one of these off e-bay. Very nice. I didn't want used and the price is great to get started. They got at least 7 years on them( I think it's a 15 year tank. I can get mine hydro tested for less than 20.00 locally. I have a shoebox compressor so at this point I'm not worried about it.

I bought a 100 cu ft 3600 psi steel for $300 on Amazon, then found a new carbon 88 cu ft 4500 psi for $250 more, new, on sale over the holidays. I confirmed the dive shop could fill it and never looked back. Carrying 22 lbs is much better than more than twice that with the steel (actually, nearly 50lbs).
