Has anyone successfully installed and matched a Williams FoolProof receiver sight on their HW30 to the original front sight?
I would be interested to hear of any successful receiver sight installation, doesn't have to be Williams, that is just the brand I am used to.
I use Williams FP sights with my rimfire silhouette rifles and it occurred to me that I could use my HW30 for winter training if I had a similar sight set-up.
Thanks.

I do not know what sight you have on the HW30.
Fiber Optic?
Try and find some good HW front sights and then put the Williams sight on.
Weihrauch website may help you.
Good luck.

I have the factory rear/front sights installed. Would like to keep the OEM front sight and use a receiver sight.
Since the receiver tube is grooved, the rear sight would need to be built for installation on a grooved receiver.

I have used the Williams FP-AG-TK on my 30s with the factory HW front sight with excellent results.

I looked at a photo of the HW30.
The Williams sight will be perfect.
The stock rear (on the barrel) might get in the way.
Remove it and it will be fine.

As already stated, the Williams FP-AG series sights work fine on these guns. It is available with either flush screw adjusters (FP-AG) or target knob adjusters (FP-AG TK).
Williams also makes their lighter and less expensive 5D sights in a version with the same airgun-style mount, the 5D-AG.
Anschutz, some types of Walther, and of course Weihrauch's own style of match diopter sights will fit the HW 30 as well. You can often find the old Anschutzes on eBay or at gun shows, etc., for little more than the cost of a new Williams, but they are at another level in terms of precision and available accessories.
Here is an R7 (same basic gun of course) with an 80's-vintage Anschutz alloy match sight and Gehmann adjustable eyepiece.

I installed an old Beeman/Williams FP-AG-TK today on my HW30.
It fits well and I have a large range of elevation to work with it seems. I will try to sight it in, though I'd hate to notch the stock of my Deluxe model. It looks to my eye that I may not need to do that.
Thanks for all the good tips on rear sights.

FWIW...I have a couple of Williams sights where a previous owner has filed the bottom off the elevation piece! A much nicer option than cutting your stock I think.

That is a good idea.
