I had an earlier post concerning accidental over filling my new Discovery to approx 3,000 psi. The airgun still shoots perfect and I am blessed to have received a great shooter right out of the box. That is with the exception of the fill gauge. I wondering if I may have toasted it when I over filled. When my pump is only registering 1,000 psi, the Discovery gauge is at 2,000. Which do I trust? Where do I order replacement parts? Is it okay to shoot until the new gauge arrives and just trust my pump gauge (I am quickly becoming addicted)? I hear great things about "Norm", but am new to the Darkside and am not aware of his website. Thanks for your help and replies.

Go by the pump. McMaster-Carr has gauges that are way more accurate.

I had an mrod that showed 1k psi higher than my hand pump gauge and the gauge on my tank. I always went with the fill gauge and it was easy to see they were the correct ones by my shot strings. I dont think I have read a post that said to trust the guns gauge over the fill gauge unless you had a reason to think the fill gauge was no longer reliable. I would think you could fill the disco to 2k using the discos gauge and shoot a string. If the disco is wrong and it is only filled to 1k the string would fall off quickly.

I'd go by the pump for now until you can check it. Gauges are cheap and widely available.

Super Thanks for the quick replies and websites.

Just a short followup. I spent some shooting time with a gunsmith friend of mine who loves to tinker. His solution to my Discovery gauge problem was to trust the gauge on my fill tank as you all suggested, but he also made tick marks on the Discovery gauge at the 1000 and 2000 reading based off the fill tank readings. In addition we left the fill tank connected to the Discovery while we shot a 20 shot round and recorded not only the fps off his crony but corresponding psi off the fill tank gauge. Interesting data as I attempt to find the sweet spot for this airgun. Any thoughts or responses to this are welcome. Thanks again folks for helping me with my intro to the darkside. With much respect.

I have a similar issue with my disco but I use a hand pump. On my gun it shows 2000 psi but on the pump it shows 2200psi. My velocity are fine and predictable and I get a good steady shot string. CPHP start at 870 climb into the low 900s and then fall back to 870 between shot 40-45. I usually get about 50 usable shots. I have no idea which to trust.
When I fill my at44 I fill to 2900psi and it shows 200 bar as it should on my gun.however I am only getting around 30 shots with it. Mind you 30 unbelievable shots that has made owning my disco almost pointless.
I am wondering which to trust...
