Title: Shot count .25 vs .30 cal
Post by: rcmark on December 18, 2014, 03:28:06 PM
How many shots per 88 cubic foot 4500 psi tank for the .25 and .30 cal?

I found one reference from the Bobcat forum:
'I have been told to expect 400 to 700 shots per 75 cub foot carbon fiber bottle in the .30 .......and anywhere
from 1000 to 2000 shots per cf bottle in the .25 non regulated'

Any info. appreciated!

An 88 cu ft. 4500 psi tank will fill my .25 Edgun (388 cc) 23 times from 100 BAR to 200 BAR. I get 75 shots per fill. That's 1725 shots per tank

It will all depend on the FPE level of your gun(s) and the efficiency.... Since most PCPs can be set up to deliver about 1 FPE / CI of air used, if you use a third of the air in your 88 CF tank (from 4500 psi down to 3000) you will be using about 29 CF which is 29 x 1728 = roughly 50,000 CI.... Divide that by your FPE to get the number of shots.... If its 50 FPE, roughly 1000 shots if you fill the gun to 3000 psi and it is of average efficiency.... If it's 100 FPE, about 500 shots.... If you fill to a lower pressure, or the gun is more efficient, more shots....
