Ok first post and not a totally original idea but maybe as applied to a sear. I use electronic cigarettes and in our battery holder we use magnets instead of springs. Much smoother, no binding at all.
The magnets used here are neodymium the larger (.316 x .120) was purchased at home depot in a pack of 8 for around $3. the smaller which I am sorry to say I did not measure, was salvaged from an eyeglass case. The pull is a very smooth and crisp break right at 1.5 lbs. i beat every which way to see if I could induce a failure/firing without touching the trigger with excellent results (would not fire). While the trigger and sear were out I did polish up the contact areas.
I used JB Weld SteelStik epoxy putty to attach.
More mods to come.

ok, so how does the sear re-engage the hammer without the spring to push it up there ?

Ya probably should have explained that! The magnets are set in place with opposite polarity. They repel each other.

that's different ;)
it's amazing the force those little neodym magnets can produce . was looking at them when i was thinking of adding one to the back of my 13xx bolt .
the the force of the magnets repelling each other pushes up the sear to re-engage with the hammer .
hmmmmmmm ....... i guess a electromagnetic driven piston for air guns will be made at some point ..... if it hasn't already .

You could get the 2300S bolt and the magnet that goes to it. I haven't tried it myself so I can't say how well it works.

A very nice idea! Thinking outside the box!

Had a chance to take it out and shoot, man what a difference! On the frame the magnet is contained in a small aluminum tube. This one happened to be from my wife's make up lol. You can set the pull weight by adjusting the gap between the magnets farther for light close for heavier. So far VERY happy with it.

Pburstrom... you know i have been here a long time and have not seen a cooler mod to this type of gunfor a long time... I am going to try it man... thank you for that idea!

Wow thank you for the suggestion. No more worrying about how long till the sear spring weakens to much after trigger mods. Cool.

Did the mod right after it was posted. It works great, only trouble at times it might take two pulls to get the sear to lock. I also drilled a 1/8 hole in the back of the bolt and added a magnet there. So now the bolt stays open when you tip the gun down to put the pellet in.
