Can any one confirm if this is a 23 fpe magnum class as claims by Remington ? it a beautiful air rifle , i will buy it if it can do 19 fpe .

Linkie dink clickity click?
Ok. Did some reading and as usual, the numbers seem inflated. Even though PA states that the numbers are with lead pellets. The are still a bit high. One review said upper 900s and that's only 17lb/ft range. I really wish these companies would get away from the high numbers sales pitch. If they offered these in .22 they might have a decent shooter but since they know velocity sells, they push the inaccurate but fast shooters.

Well I bit the bullet and picked one up on impulse. Mounted a one piece scope mount and slapped on the factory scope. Cleaned the bore with some goo-gone and started shooting. First shots were just a tad low and to the right but they were consistent! After getting the scope zeroed I was hitting the center of crosman pellet tins easily at 12 yds. As for power I haven't tested it yet but I sincerely doubt that it's a magnum springer. I'll try to chrony it tomorrow, so far I'm in love with this gun. Light and balanced but punched through both sides of a can easily with cphps. Looks great too (although I'd rather not have the muzzle device which IMHO ruins the beautiful lines).

I hate that muzzle break on the front. Other than that it is a beautiful gun. ;)
-
totally agreed with Matt15 on that , but it is a real silencer not just a muzzle break so you win some and loose some here .
-
I am sorry , I mean sound suppressor .
-
I'd really like to put a metal muzzle on the end there. I think the rifle deserves it :) One more quick pic:

Thanks CA_Blacktail , waiting for your chrony .
-
looks very nice !I hope it has the power too , it is a keeper right CA_Blacktail ? ;) . I will order one . BTW Midwayusa only $93 . you should get it from them .
-
This one is definitely a keeper, I am in love with the weight and balance as well as the shot cycle.
-
i bought the grey tactical from mid way on sale gun felt great but it had a spring and there was twang but if it was say tunded like flying dragon does it would make a sweet gun
-
Yeah Flying Dragon will be selling some of these rifles. I am sure Mike will run some through the chrony.
-
Oh by the way if you check Flying Dragon in the vendors gate he does offer the .22 barrel for $43.
-
with some luck I will have the XP's early next week, will do a chrony test with what I have in the way of pellets and let you know how it does. The power may be down some from the levels in the XS-28, found the Express to be around 50 fps slower than the XS-25....
-
Wow I wish I had gotten the 4-11 on that earlier! I would've loved one gone over by you Mike, but now the dilemma because the one I bought is a straight shooter! I think the .22 barrel is gonna be a must! Also, this rifle is a lot LESS hold sensitive than the Ruger Impact I have. I can't say enough about it, this is a rifle that the (new) Beeman should've had their name on.

after testing the Remington Express XP I can safely say they are not by any means a 23 ft/lb. rifle. The most I have been able to get out of them in stock form is around 17 fpe....same rifle as the express internally, just some bling on the outside.
-
Kind of a pinstripe performance package. You suppose it was a typo and they meant to say 23j?
-
thanks Mike ! good thing that I wait for your test . They so trust worthy !
-
Yea my chrony has played its last solo so I couldn't get any reliable numbers. I was sure that these weren't magnum springers, they shoot too darn easy.

so it's just as you said a week or so ago ... it's basically a xs 25 action with a xs 26 (r9 "clone") trigger ....... but with remingtons hype machine .
how does the trigger on these compare to the xs25 with your second screw mod ? is either trigger better than the other ?
-
out of the box both triggers are about the same, with the Rem if you replace the screw and washers at the front of the trigger unit with a 4mm by 100mm long allen screw and nut you can get better adjustment. No machine work. the XS-25 trigger does need machine work. I did do a slop job on the trigger blade and added an adjustment screw and it helps a bunch on getting the glass breaking type trigger on the Remington, I do need to do some thinking on the trigger screw, will need an allen type I think......
