I recieved my hawke sidewinder 30, 8x32x56 yesterday, really like the fine reticle, not quite as clear as I hoped but that's probably my 70 year old eyes.
But I do have a problem, as I was focusing the eyepiece or reticle I noticed the reticle moving in relation to the target then I tried moving the eyepiece up, down and left, right and it moves. It springs back, it feels like it's mounted in rubber.
Is this gona be a problem, do all hawkes do this or should I send it back?
Oops sorry y'all , I didn't have my ocular locked, my bad!!

I didn't have the ocular locked!!
Could happen to anyone, all scopes don't lock the Ocular. It's a good idea for springer's. :P

My Hawke Varmint's ocular doesn't lock.

A solution might be to wrap a turn of PVC electrical tape around the adjustment ring after the ocular is set to your liking. If you look closely at this pic you'll see where I taped the ocular adjustment ring........

The ring wasn't taped because of "ocular movement" but simply as a precaution so cocking of my break barrel R9 wouldn't accidentally rotate the ring by rubbing the arm (or whatever).

No need for electrical tape. The Sidewinder has a lock ring.

So what was the issue with the original post where......"as I was focusing the eyepiece or reticle I noticed the reticle moving"?
Oh well....after the focus related poi shifting I had with two 4-12 AirMax scopes in a row and the fact that a 4-12Hawke Panorama would focus sharply no closer than 12 yards even though there was a 10 yard etching on the AO I gave up on the brand so I'm pretty ignorant of the "Sidewinder" series (or any other for that matter).
