Title: Why do we call our rifles by Lady names..
Post by: ToRmEnToR on November 06, 2014, 07:50:35 PM
Ran into an old post asking if D48's were hard to 'Tame'.. Having had a few other springers besides my Beeman RS2 and an old RWS that is marketed as Marksman. I have really had to practice a different artillery hold for each springer. Every time I shoot the D48 I feel like its more forgiving than all the others that I have shoot.. Albeit, I've never shoot a top range English, or hw98 or the like's.. She's all stock, but I've had some consistent impressive D48 groupings on days thats rivaled my pcp's.. Having said that I've had a time, or two that she was being fussy. I took a break came back later, and she was back to normal.. (No wonder we call them by lady names, lol) Overall, I believe the the D48 is a solid workhorse, reliable, accurate and gorgeous..

Don't know about you mate, but I'd be really uncomfortable holding onto and snugging into my shoulder and cheek something named Bob or Fritz.

Are you saying you treat a lady like a tramp, and a tramp like a lady? :)

If you're good to them, treat them respect, take care of them, feed them their favorite food, and send them off for an occasional "spa day of massage and rejuvenation" they will make you VERY, VERY happy!   ;)

I've only named one of my R9s and it was named FRANKEN9 simply because it was cobbled together from parts bin R9 & R10 parts plus a few home turned parts.
LOL.....personally, I don't feel that holding my R9 is anything similar to hugging my wife..........but to each his own I guess.

Even if you hold them properly, they can still be a little unpredictable. 8)

In 1938 "Waldo" on The Little Rascals said it best. "Things of beauty, grace and speed are usually referred to in the feminine gender" . Funny how stuff like this sticks with you.

Go easy here folks. Its getting overly suggestive for a family friendly place. Consider this THE warning.

To those of us that have scrupulously clean and strict morals minds , this shouldnt have been offensive . It was not supposed to be anything of the kind . I believe what I said to be the truth .
