found a simple video on cutting crosman barrels for us mere mortals with no laith or fancy tools ....... thought others here might find it helpful .

personaly I would have used a hack saw instead of the cut of wheel its way more accurate

spinning the barrel is what got my attention , i'm thinking it'll make squaring easier with the cutting tool of choice .

Yep..that's how I cut them too. Then chuck the barrel in a cordless drill with 1/2" chuck, and square the face up really nice on the disc sander. I run the drill in spinning clockwise with the sander running and hold the end of the barrel by hand and use the sanding deck to keep it square. This takes only a minute or two for a really nice, flat face on the barrel end.
After that, I use finer grits on a piece of plywood along with the drill and get it nice and smooth and flat and finally cut the crown with a brass screw in a vice and some 320 grit silicon carbide paper.
Once you've done a couple you realize it's really easy and all the ones I've cut work great.
