Speaking with Tim at Mac-1 was given the impression his LDC's are ALL metal construction sounding like baffles were too.
Having handled a few TKO's ... don't think theirs are ?

JMO ... nuttin more

The TKO brake is quite light, which to me is a good thing. It is also very effective. Sorry, haven't handled the other one for comparison, tk

Ditto here. Very light and work great. No idea about the Mac1.

Have used both,I personally prefer the Mac1 brake vs TKO due to metal construction, tighter fit and quieter sound. I believe the biggest difference would be that the Mac1 brake is press fit, gets heated and pressed on for a tight fit that aligns better with the bore. The TKO is easier to remove but not as sturdy. Both great products that work as intended 8)

thanks for the replies folks . i was leaning a little towards the Gen ll , particularly if i order a barrel from him with his accuracy prep .
i hope y'all don't mind if i throw the AC Customs shroud in the mix . i had forgot about it the other night .

Got one from AC Customs and love it. Quiet as a church mouse on Sunday morning.

How long do you guys shoot before having to take the Lead Dust Collector off the rifle and vaccum it or dump it out? Or does it collect and you have to throw the thing away and get a new one?

Joe, after shooting 58368 pellets, the unit should be taken off and cleaned/vacuumed.

Just joking - I have never seen any posts about needing to clean out the LDC/Shroud.

EDIT:  I forgot to add that I have been using the AC Customs Shroud since 2014 Spring Squirrel Season.  It does for the reason I got it.

I don't have any personal experience with the TKO or AC Customs... and admittedly, I am a big fan of Mac1 and Tim's vast knowledge, experience, and skill as a airgunsmith.
I have the Mac1 Gen II on both mine and my friends 1377/2289 carbine conversions.

I have the 18" barrel , and my buddies is the 14".
The Mac1 Gen II performs so well, that there is no significant detectable difference in the two different barrel lengths. Both were installed by Tim, at his shop, while he did his accuracy prep on the barrels.

I am so pleased with the results, we then used my .22 FDPCP as "the guinea pig" for him to modify the I.D. of the Gen II to fit the O.D. of FDPCP's factory barrel.
Again, I am very happy with the results, my FDPCP no longer sounds like a .22LR rimfire, and can confidently be considered Backyard Friendly.

Here it is on my 1377/2289 carbine conversion...
