So, one of my pet peeves is that scope manufacturers don't list how high each scope ring sits above the dovetail. Would it really be that hard to list this information?
Anyway, anybody know what height of scope ring I need if I have a 30mm tube scope with a 44mm objective. Obviously, I'd like the objective to set as close to the barrel as possible. The scope is a side focus, so no worries about the extra width of an AO ring.

Med is generally LOW as i have found avalible in 30mm.
Knowing WHAT RIFLE and therefor an idea on Receiver / Barrel height difference does have an effect on actual barrel to OB clearance you may end up with ???

Rifle is a Discovery w/ BNM breech/shroud.

Very similar in height difference to an M-rod ... use a set of 30mm UTG in Medium with my Hawke Tac-30 4.5x14x42 and have @ 3/8" OB to shroud clearance. 44mm OB is only another 1mm per side ( That is UNLESS scope used has an OB parallax focus and not SF ? ) then OB bell is a LOT larger in diameter.
"Med" should be fine IMO if a SF type scope....
