Title: Where to get tanks filled
Post by: Rgordonwv on October 12, 2014, 09:12:55 PM
I am would like to purchase a pcp rifle, but would need to have a set up to fill from tanks, for health reasons, pumping is not an option.  I have tried to find some place locally that will fill tanks, but so far have struck out.

There are not any sports shops close by that I have found that fills tanks.  What are some of the typical locations to check out?

It seems like these questions almost always come from fellow west virginians. As far as dive and paintball shops go, we're pretty much out of luck. I've checked tons of phonebooks and have looked all over the internet and have'nt found a single dive shop.  I have, however, found a few paintball shops, but they all only fill co2.

All my local fire departments claim they aren't allowed to fill tanks for anything outside of bussiness. However, you might have better luck with that if you happen to know soomeone in the department.

The best advice I can give you is to just but a shoebox compressor and get it over with. It'll be pricey at first, but when you consider the price of the tank and gas you'll have in driving to a fill station (if you ever find one), it'll probably pay for itself.

Depending on your travels, there is a Paintball field off 81 and Rt9 Skyline Paintball. That's a bit south of you but I would call first ( I know they fill tanks to 4500 for paintball )

If you happen to be in Nova Pev's Paintballs in Aldie (7 days a week) and the Fairfax shop (M,Thur,Fri,Sat,Sun) can fill 4500, just call ahead if heading to the Fairfax shop so he can run the compressor up to 5k.
