Hey guys,
What do you think about having a thread solely for the purpose of educating us newbies on the details of Nitrogen fill stations ?
Lots of members (new and old), often struggle with the issues of going to PCP's, and the added expense of filling their guns.
We often discuss the options of hand pumps, vs. cylinders, Boosting hand pumps with small compressors, 3000psi vs. 4500psi, SCUBA tanks vs. SCBA tanks, Shoebox vs. Nitrogen, and the variables each, as well as availabilty and costs, to members in various locations.
Many times it seems that the associated costs of going with Nitrogen set-ups, are a better route (in the long run),... especially for those who don't have locally available shops who can do 4500psi fills... but have "air hungry" 3000 psi rifles.
So my hopes for this thread are, to have a "Nitrogen Specific" education on the various set-ups, and associated costs, of building a complete and SAFE Nitrogen fill station.
It is NOT intended as a thread to debate the virtues of HPA sources vs. Nitrogen.
Please feel free to show your pics of your Nitrogen stations, related equipment, regulators, valves, hoses, fittings, and include the parts, sources, costs, etc.
THANKS !

Hi Ron how about starting a new Topic in the PCP Support Gate dedicated to Nitrogen Fill Stations. I think that would be a great place for all that info as more & more PCP shooters are going in the Nitrogen direction.

I hope a lot of people do add to this thread. I to want to go to a nice fill set up, but am still researching.

A nitrogen fill station thread is a great idea. I've got nothing to contribute, but I'm very interested in learning what anyone is willing to share.

Ron please feel free to start a New Nitrogen Fill Unit Info topic in the PCP Support Gate. I think it would be a very good topic as more and more Darksiders are going to Nitrogen. Things like Pros / Cons, needed equipment, safety issues seeing Nitrogen tanks are most often 6000 PSI would be good things to educate would be Nitrogen users and anyone thinking of switching from HPA.

I can add a little to this thread. Shooting the HW100 FSB 177 on nitrogen for about a month now. I squadded with Ray Apples awhile back. He told me that nitrogen was a faster gas then air. I set the HW to 900 fps on air, and was getting 45 full power shots. After switching the average went to 906 fps, and now getting 50 full power shots. Accuracy is a little better. I don't know why. The accuracy could just be me getting more trigger time. I'm running off a 300 cu ft, 6000 psi nitrogen bottle. Nitrogen is not cheep when using a 6k bottle. If you can get away with a 3k bottle, it much cheaper.
