Title: Pump assembly - thread tape?

My FX Royale 500 and FX pump arrived a few days ago.  I plan to assemble the pump & shoot the gun this weekend.  The FX pump assy instructions are pretty bad (they appear to be generally written to cover multiple products, including a microwave oven). 

I've previously assembled an Air Force pump, but I can't recall if I used thread tape or not (and can't tell without unscrewing fittings).  The manual doesn't make any mention of thread tape, but is it generally a good idea to use it on pump fittings?

Hi
I used Teflon tape on the connecting the fill probe to the fill hose.
I did not use any on the connection to the pump to the hose.
I have a hill pump that I use to fill my sumatra.
