Went to the Crosman website and checking out their Facebook page of the Shot show and seen this picture of the Nitro Venom Dusk air rifle that looks pretty cool........guess nobody is noticing this with all the talk about the Rogue..... Mike

Just a trail NP in a different suit?

The foregrip is wider and flat with the intention of making it ideal for the artilery hold:

I'm hoping the changes include some non-cosmetic items as well.

The selling price is low so I think it is a trail without a shroud or a Titan with a gamo type LDC and a non thumbhole stock which is cheaper to make. It shows the same velocity and sound reduction information as the trail. If anyone finds out any different please let us know. JMHO

I bought this nitro Venom....

a little while ago and I have to tell you I'm very impressed with the rifle. Sportsmansguide has been the only dealer selling it and they have it for a great price. No doubt the "new" Venom rifles just announced are using the same power plant.... just a different stock design.

I have read where several have already had to send them back to Crosman. What is with the QC? If they get that down they would sell a lot more product. That is what has kept me from buying a couple of their new products.

Hey, Jeff. I was curious about that rifle, and since you've got one maybe you can tell me:
Is the stock hollow? Do you like the overall shape? What's the feel of the stock like (smooth/slippery or "grippy")?
Thanks,

Joel,
It's the exact same synthetic stock that comes on the Phantom series rifles and I personally find it to be one of the nicest synthetic stocks around. I've had a G-1 Extreme for several years now and have always loved the stock. The butt of the stock is indeed hollow but the stock is so well made and so sturdy and solid that I never needed to fill the stock on the G-1 and I don't need to fill the stock on the Venom. The stock has small "dimples" on the forearm that really aid you in maintaining a firm grip on the stock but they are small enough so that the stock is still very comfortable. The other than the dimples the stock is smooth but it is easy to maintain a very good grip as it doesn't have a slippery feeling to it. As for the rifle itself.. I can only speak for the rifle that I received and I will certainly admit that it's possible that I just got lucky and got a "good one", but my Venom is outstanding. Cocks smoothly, lockup is nice and tight, not pellet picky at all, superb accuracy and power, has a nice solid firing cycle with no vibration or twang and the bluing and metal are very very nice.. in short,,, I have no complaints at all. Another thing that really surprised me was the trigger. It has a different trigger than on my G-1 Extreme and I have to say it's really very nice. It's so nice as a matter of fact that I don't plan on changing it. It was the best $143 bucks I've spent in a long time. If you want to know what the stock actually feels like take a ride to Walmart and see if they have the Phantom in stock. If they do just ask to hold it, like I said it's the same stock that's on the Venom. Hope this helps ya out.
