Title: trigger pull weight
Post by: Whatsquirrel on September 15, 2014, 01:10:53 PM
I'm thinking of getting the cdt triggers for my gamo bone collector, gamo whisper elite, benji trail & benji trail np2. My question is what is the pull weight of the triggers installed in the guns? I like light triggers.

I've found the GRT lll in my Stoegers are measuring lighter than the one I have in my Nitro Venom by a pound or two difference. I'm thinking it could be due to the different styles of safety,,,? auto vs. manual.
I believe the last I measured pull the X20S' were at 1.5lb and the NV is a bit over 3lb.

How much did it affect the accuracy?

GTR III in my Stoeger X20S reduced pull weight just over 1 pound. Now down to 2 lb. 12 oz. It improves precision because of the reduced pull weight and a better (more consistent) release. Biggest improvements on my X20S came from brass pivot washers, better scope with AO, trigger upgrade and detuning so it could be bag rested.

TC pretty much covered the accuracy improvement....they do make a huge difference! and adjustable!
You listed four guns,, surprised you're still shooting any of 'em with stock triggers,, what with all the greatness talk on this site about the CDT triggers.

the pull weight of any/all stages of the theoben (crosman) trigger is dependent on the drag of the contacting surfaces, the trigger (lawyer) spring and the intermediate spring...

with a GTR trigger you can the lawyer spring so the drag and intermediate spring are the factors involved...

springs are manufacturer and model specific...
