Hi Guys,
I am in the process of selecting a mount and scope for use on a new 30J HW90 .25, which, I hear, is a renowned eater of scopes, i will select a decent scope to fit, but after spending some time running the gun in, will start with my default Hawke 3-9x40HD, 1"tube, my primary use for this gun is pest control, so the gun will get regular field & forest use, day & night.
I have read conflicting reports on the genuine "Dampa mount", and was considering the validity of maybe getting a decent 30mm mount such as the BKL pro-mount medium 360, (as i may end up with a suitable 30mm scope to risk solid mounting), and making some indexed nylon liners to reduce to 1"tube diameter.
has anybody tried this? and would it give any degree of damping of the shock of the ram discharge on firing, as the Dampa mount effectifly shuttles the whole scope clamping top section on rubber bushes, i understand it is different from spring recoil, and have not previously had experience of this gun, although i have wanted one for many years.
I am keen to regain precise settings, and avoid POI drift, as I don't like poor shots to game
any advice/opinions are welcome ;)
safe shooting!

I always wanted to try lining the mounts with rubber pieces cut from a bicycle tyer tube. I think that would bea good option.
