Title: FD XS28M weaver rail
Post by: calixt0 on September 08, 2014, 04:49:07 PM
hello I switched out the 11mm rail on my xs28m to a weaver rail and several asked what i did and how i did it.    Heres what i did.

Took of the 3 screws that held on the 11mm rail

I took it the the gun store and bought the closest rail I could find that was either picatinny or weaver.  found this

to mount it to the AirGun took very little work

The hole that is pointed to with the allen wrench needed just a touch of filing so that the screw holes lined up.   I lined up the old rail with the new one and drilled the hole pionted at with the screwdiver.

after that it screws right on.. with that I ended up with a xs28m with a weaver rail..

I know its short but thats all I did.  Hope this helps.

Did you use the original screws on the new rail?

Thanks,
Scotty

no I used the new screws. were a bit too large and needed to use a tap first.  However 1 of my holes was stripped out from the previos owner.

Thanks.  Nice job.  Not sure why the manufacturers don't just screw a weaver rail on in the first place.

thanks , i've been curious about that on the xisco xs28m .
i'm guessing screw length is critical to keep them from touching the spring ? or is there a hair or two of wiggle room ?
