Title: Ruger Superpoint pellets
Post by: David Powell on September 01, 2014, 02:59:52 PM
My son and I went to Walmart today to pick up a few things and when we made it to the sporting goods section,I noticed a new pellet offered, .22 caliber Ruger Superpoint. All I can see is that they are made in China, weight says 1.1g and are 200 count. They must be stocked to compliment the Ruger Impact .22 rifle they have on the shelf @ $139. I also noticed a new Shockey model.
looks like Wally is expanding the air gun section quite a bit.

They have only one tin at our local WW and it was 6$ I have two tins that I got online for $3.38 and my pumpers love them...

They did not do as well in other guns.

I picked up a tin at Wmart not too long ago.  They kind of remind me of the 22 gr GAMO pointed pellets. I put a few through my R1.  Not really impressed.

I believe they weight 16.97 grain. They are a little tall and feel chunky. I only bought them out of curiosity. ;)

I weighed a bunch and most came out to 16.9-16.95 grains with some, just a  few at 16.8 , a few at 16.85 and just one at 16.75...

I ran about a dozen through my Titan GP today. They are tall, and require a little extra effort to fully seat them. Results in tin-can alley were adequate.  Squirrel season is open, and I just might have to move from cans to tree rats!

I bought some a few weeks ago, I took them P-Dawg shooting.  The P-Dawgs hate them.  But my Disco likes them.  I even took a YB @ 50+ yds with them, it hated them too.  I just have to keep the Disco RVA on low.  They get to erratic at higher speeds.  Also took a rabbit with them.  It got hit hard, jumped up 2-3 feet then fell back to earth w/o even a twitch.  Man it was loud when it got smacked.  So I think they will do just fine for hunting season.  I'm waiting for Wally World to get them back in stock online---3.08 for a tin.
