Title: Tree Rat down
Post by: CurmudgeInn on August 31, 2014, 10:32:31 PM
We have had a problem with a tree rat getting into our attic and chewing on things.  I went out side two days ago and noticed that we had 6 ot 7 of them zooming around in the trees.  I noticed one heading down the wire for the house. I grabbed the Blue Streak and took aim. I tagged him just below the eye and out the other side. Just need to get the rest of his friends.

If they get into the attic they will make a nest and chew all the insulation off of the wiring in there for amusement. Keep nailing those suckers!
Put up a bird feeder within easy shooting distance of the house. You will have targets all day.

I had bird feeders up they never went for them.

Robert, great marksmanship!  I had them in my attic and went to war with them, too.  My total since entering my war now stands at 51 since last October.  Needless to say, they are getting scarce in the neighborhood but there are always new arrivals to contend with.  I hope you get the remaining offenders!

ooh I will be trying very hard to get them. My GF wants to protect them and I think she is giving them a bit of help.  She has no clue what they can do to the house.

Once war is declared, there shall be no surrender, no mercy, and no survivors.

Keep it up.  I'm trying to rid my folks summer house of them, which is especially challenging when I can only get out there every few weeks.  Once you see the property damage it's no longer just simple hunting!

Around my house they seem to like whole peanuts , sunflower seeds  and corn. I put up a bait station on my target tree to get them where I needed them. They had started to chew on my trash cans and house so I declared war on them. I have taken out 58 so far this year. Going to work on my in laws house for fall season.
