Is the HW57 still in production/available?  Also, what exactly is it?  It looks like an HW50S but in an underlever configuration.

The HW57 is still in production. The power plant is basically an HW50 but with an underlever. I've had mine for about 10 years. It's in .22, very handy and very accurate. :)

AFAIK they are not sold in the U.S.  You might try some of the Canadian retailers.  It's counterpart from Diana looks to be a 280 in underlever config.  But the price tag-ouch!

Jim Maccari occasionally brings in select HW models. I got mine from him last year. Check the Today's Special from time to time. Mine is .177 and I love it. I don't shoot my 50S much since getting it. Easier to cock and just as accurate. A very handy gun. The size of a 77K but quite a bit lighter. Almost the same price as well, which is probably why they are not brought in in quantity.
