Title: Big springer prep
Post by: Joeryan on August 26, 2014, 05:25:37 AM
Gotta new big springer on the way, just in time for wabbits and nutters. I've got all the tools to get her ready. Mac1 crown saver, goo gone, and krytech. Also got a bunch of cheap cphp's for break-in. I'm guessin several patches of goo-gone til clean, followed by a few patches of Krytech , and more dry patches til clean. Then I plan on firing 100 or so break-in shots before I mount the Leapers UTG 3x9x40. Anyone have further suggestions or additions ?

What gun are you using?

That should be 1000 or so break in shots. 500 is baseline.

It took my R11 1500 to really smooth out. Also I lube & clean my pellets. I also clean the rifle after every 500 shots. Most people wait for accuracy to drop off, but on some rifles it is so subtle you do not notice. :)

It's a hatsan 135 .22. It's on the way.

If you don't have one already, a chronograph would be a great addition.

You can take a baseline then compare readings as it breaks in as well as track any changes from tuning.

Congrats on your new shooter. After 1.5 years I have 10 working shooters & sold about 8. If is a viscous never ending circle. I do think I have upgraded from the start.  ;)
