Am I going to be at a big disadvantage shooting 7.33 grain pellets at 900FPS in HFT matches. Thanks, Don

Not if you are accurate and are good at ranging.

Not necessarily, but in my experience, the 7.87gr might be the better choice at that power level.

A pellets BC is really the telling of whats in store as you stretch the ranges further out.
Nearly any "Accurate" pellet in spite its weight shot at 900fps would be considered very flat shooting at 25 yards.
Sadly lighter pellets DECELERATE quicker than heavy ones and this slowing down creates greater drop ( POI drop ) further down range the pellet flies.
So the DISADVANTAGE shooting light pellets is your RANGE ESTIMATION become far more critical further out you go due to the greater slowing down and energy losses pellet suffers.
There is WHOLE LOT MORE to this, but we're not getting into that here ;)

Thanks for the info. My 1720T carbine seems to like the 7.33 JSBs but the 8.44 JSBs shot almost as good. My 1720T pistol and carbine shot the 10.34 JSBs the best but they drop like a rock past 40 yards due to the low fps. The 7.33 shoot about like 10.34 JSBs in my Marauder as far as hold over. I have to hold over 3.5 mildots with 10.34s, at 55 yards, with my 1720 carbine. They are shooting about 750 fps. I can bump the speed up but my shot count is about 20 so I don't want to lose any. I am going to a double tube or air tube extension soon so I will have more volume to work with. I will look into trying the 7.87s. I am afraid I will get embarrassed in the wind with the light pellets but I can still have fun ;D.
