Title: Cheap Squirrel Target
Post by: josixpack on August 25, 2014, 12:44:21 PM
I was getting some food for my dog Saturday and saw a squirrel dog toy skin which has a replaceable plastic bottle inside for $4.97 and thought I've got to shoot that thing.  Works great!  Similar size as a squirrel and makes a nice pop, crinkle, crack sound when hit.  It seems like it will take plenty of shots before falling completely apart.

I also took a few plastic tent stakes and tapped a piece of hanger bent 90 degrees to them and hung a foam practice golf ball and shoot n see targets from them at various distances in my yard.  They also make nice targets.

Just thought I'd share.

I'll have to find one of those squirrel dog toys... I just gotta keep the mutt away from it. he'd tear it to shreds in about 60 seconds!

I stumbled across a few old hard drive platters the other day so I drilled a hole in one and hung it up at about 45 yards. makes a nice "ping".  8)

I hear you, the only thing my dog hasn't destroyed is a Kong Frisbee and I don't want to shoot that.  I'm an IT guy so we have plenty of hard drives we need to destroy.  I'll have to give them a try.  Maybe I can get paid to shoot, we have to pay someone to destroy them.
