Title: Which tank to get?
Post by: brwndg13 on August 20, 2014, 07:27:02 PM
I am in yet another quandary.... this time as to which CF tank to get:  Great White Armor-Up Package or Air Hog Whole-Hog Package?

I have a Disco, Prod, and just got an FX Royale 400 so I NEED a big tank.
I am poised to drop the hammer but surfing and researching has once again got me flummoxed as to which to purchase.
Which would you go with?
Appreciate your help,
Tim

Let's see, AirHog rates their tanks honestly....sounds like a simple choice to me.
cheers,

I can't for the life of me understand why this topic keeps coming up every so often. Overstating product capabilities is as old as advertising itself. It's a fact of life that we all must live with. Net weight, mpg, fps, biggest, smallest, prettiest, best....the race for market share is what drives the wheel.  If we eliminated all the hyped products out there there wouldn't be much to buy.

Alright uncle paulie, how is it you think such quantities were recognized as not telling the Whole Truth? You missed one of my favourite ones, 'Peak Music Power'. Even that one is not quite in the same league as what we're talking about here. An amplifier so rated would make that power, albeit for a remarkably short period of time. There is in fact no way to put 97 cu ft of air into a tank with 550 cubic inches internal volume around room temperature without exceeding 4500 psi. Air not being an ideal gas, excludes considering its behavior under Ideal Gas Law, at least at the pressure being used( eg. 4500 psi ). It is close up to 3000 psi....let me direct you to some of Bob Sterne's writings on air's compressibility at that 300 Bar pressure, just in case you think *MY* numbers are made up or worse; he's got graphs and everything...:)
cheers,
Douglas

Why is this a non-addressable issue?
If someone is misrepresenting a product it should be addressed.
I haven't read any nasty posts in this thread.

I just wanted to know which was the better deal for a first time buyer:

                                    Great White Armor-Up Package
                                                      or
                                      Air Hog Whole-Hog Package?

I made my choice so, thanks for all who replied.
