Just chronographed my 125 vortex sniper with the oring in the bottom of the air chamber and looks like I have given up 100 fps to have quietness and smoothness!
When I have to tear it open again I might try and get it out to see just how much difference it makes!
Right now I had two men standing behind a truck that was forty yds away from where I was shooting and they both said they never heard the shot ,only the wack of the target!
So that's quiet enough for me to leave it like it is for now, most of my squirrel and rabbit hunting will be at those ranges From 50 down to 10-15 yds!

Well, the fact that they didn't hear the shot is nice, but the report of a shot from springers is generally pretty quiet, when compared to cO2 or a PCP.
Most of the noise produced by spring guns is from the action of the piston slamming home & the twang of the spring itself. They generally don't make enough noise to be heard as a loud sound from close by, much less 40 yards away behind a truck.
Still, the O-ring on the surface of the chamber would quiet it down a tad & reduce piston slam. Though the real question is for how long.

Guess I will find out
