When I saw this I was like no way mistake!!... Well I opened the breech and there's no mistake lol. Super pumped right now I ve been wanting one of these in .22 since I got into the sport. My TF99 has been tuned by mike about 2 yrs ago and has a gam ram it's hole in hole accurate and a good hunter!! Hopefully the 87 will be half as good! Here's some pics of the TF 99 premiere in .22

Nice rifles.  I like that 99. Like I said was looking to pick one up from Mike.  Wasnt sure if I should get the nitro or spring in .177

I would get the gas ram. My spring broke pretty quick when I first bought the rifle. I did shoot heavy pellets though but if you get the ram you don't have to worry. Plus mine was easier to shoot with the ram as well or at least that's what I felt. Although it was just as accurate with the wire spring.

Went out to shoot a couple rounds before the rain and this thing is pretty powerful. It's  got to be over 20 or more FPE. I was hitting half inch spinners at 25yds open sight of the ledge of my deck. I'm thinking that if something ever goes south I'll send it to mike for a full tune.

Im having issues with my scope still... maybe its still dieseling. Sometimes Ill get a sub dime group and other times its all over the place. Im wondering if its just the powerful recoil. With iron sights though its fine though. Im gonna do a gas ram conversion as soon as the spring dies - the recoil is really strong and jerky compared to my vantage NP, which could be throwing off the shots too.

What type of scope and mounts are you using?

Im using one piece UTG mount with loctite on the rail and mounting screws. Honestly, I may have to loctite the top screws as they seem  to be coming loose. This thing really works the scope out.... hope it dont break! I now realize the benefits of NP haha.

Same setup I have on my TF 99 and iv never had to even touch for 2 yrs. I used the utg high profile 1 piece mount and a utg leapers 4x16x50 AO scope. I have noticed the TF87 has some pretty good recoil compared to gas ram in the 99.  If your struggling  with the scope and your gun  is good with the irons then sounds to me like the scope  maybe going out. I had one do the same every thing on another gun of mine.  Locktite those top screws and see if the problem continues if so you prob have your answer.

Ok I think I figured it out. You have to use an extremely light artillery hold and you have to put your front arm as far front as possible. Just shot this today - 6 shots @ 12 yards. The shot to the right was trying a different hold then I switched back to the far front hold - not as tight as the one I posted on the china forum but at least I know it's not the scope. I'm tempted to break it down and do a tune to get rid of the recoil...

Hmm the 87 seems spot on now @ 435 shots. I think it just needed to burn up all the lube cuz I getting exact crosshair shots half the time :). Amazing gun for what I paid for it!

Glad you like your 87.  That rifle is a little to big for me being I only get to shoot at a distance of 20yrds.  In my opinion if those Shanghai people had put that trigger on the 99 and 97 it would have gave a good range of options power wise.  JMO

Yea if that trigger was even fined tuned a little more then put on a 99 then that gun would be able to compete with a lot more expensive rifles. I believe that mine can now just haven't had time to go to FT match yet to go head to head. Works to busy this time of the year!

Weird I was thinking the same thing yesterday about the tf99s trigger. Guess that's what the 46u is for but I heard it's trigger is long.... Really wish tech force had continued the line as you guys suggested.

The RS2 triggers were sold at one time as a separate unit.  Would have maybe been a good conversion to tinker with.  JMO

I picked up a bunch of parts from Boris when I was at PA, there could be some trigger groups in the boxes, think I saw some when transferring the stuff to storage....

I hope I am not too late. I've been out of pocket getting a total knee replacement. I have a TF deluxe in .22 and always wished I had bought another.

Not sure if he has anymore I'd check his site. Best deal out there right now by far. IMHO

Just ordered a TF-99 with nitro piston. Maybe the last one ? This will be my first gas ram rifle.

I believe you will like it. If I were you I'd asked mike to give it a trigger tune while it's there bc he did good work on mine so much better than stock trigger.

I've tuned my share of Chinese B3 rifles. This will be my first with a gas ram. I am two weeks out from a total knee replacement. Thus far it is all I can do to get to the computer. I had my knee rebuilt in 1983 from a football injury and that older work complicated this surgery but i think I am on the mend.Once I am able to get around a little better and get to my workshop I plan to use this rifle as part of my "rehab". Likely will hone the air chamber, smooth mating surfaces of the trigger and shoot it. It will be weird not globing special mystery grease on the spring and piston. Never tuned one with a gas ram, any hints?

use small amounts of lube on the seal and piston, ram kinda takes the fun out of tuning them...the usual deburr and polish...if one has the right tools and fittings adjusting the ram is easy...

Been busy with rehabbing my knee after total knee replacement. As Usual Mike came through in a big way. Mike did not get His reputation for nothing. This is the fourth air gun I have bought from Mike and I am sure it will not be the last. The TF-99 is a lot of gun and that is coming from someone who is 6'4" 235 .lbs. The gas ram is nice this one is my first such critter. The stock on the one I got in is beautiful. Much more gun than the price paid. I've shot it a little and while I do not have a chronograph I know it is powerful. I get a 50' shot to my backstop from my patio in my backyard and I shoot Air rifle silhouettes and smallbore silhouettes . You can tell how powerful a air rifle is by the way they knock over the smallbore silhouettes. The TF-99 with nitro piston in .177 slams the smallbore silhouettes so I know it is packing a punch. Thus far it loves pointed Crosman Hunter pellets, hates Crosman wadcutters. This is the first .177 rifle I have found that did not like Crosman wadcutters but then most of my rifles do not shoot very fast. I am still on a walker but hope soon to be on a cane. Thanks Mike for your great customer service and love of this sport.

Once again a testament to the beauty of the gun for the price.  I'm sure you will love yours as I have enjoyed mine. Good luck on the knee my father had that done and took him awhile to get back upright. You will be in my prayers and I wish you the best.

No photos of the gun yet but it is pretty. Pictures of my first two targets. I mainly shoot standing Offhand and rarely give myself the luxury of support other than my bones. Due to my knee thing I am using  a position I like to call sitting offhand. I blacked out the fiber optic sights with Brownell's Alumahyde. Fiber optics may be great for hunting but not my cup of tea for shooting targets. These targets were shot at ten meters in my garage.

It's looking like a keeper. Throw a one piece mount and a 4x16 scope on it and stretch it's feet out. Mine groups well out to 70 yds with some holdover since it's a .22... I actually headshot a crow at around 77yds when it had the coil spring in it.

Good numbers, very nice. I do not have a chrony but do kinetic testing on steel silhouettes. It gives me a good idea of how powerful an air rifle is shooting as opposed to a smallbore rifle. My only concern now is to get some spare parts for the trigger specifically the mouse trap style spring and the sheet metal trigger shoe with the pinned in steel sear cam. Started a new thread on mine.
