Which chronograph is everyone using and please give me your likes and dislikes and whether or not you would buy that brand again! Thanks. Rev

I use a F1 Master Chrony. I haven't had any problems with it other than a few error messages during a string of shots. I use Hawke's Chairgun and an Excel spreadsheet to further study the data.

Just got done useing my base F1. I made a remote switch myself.
;D

the Pro Chrno is very good, from what I hear it is the choice for competition shoots.

Pro Chono Digital /USB Connection and software for the laptop. Lets you make a shroud for the chrony because you just know you are gonna shoot that puppy eventually. Provides remote funtions and data manipulation. Wireless connection from laptop to printer... easy peasy.

Thanks everyone!

I do plan on the printer at a later date for my F1.
If you go with the Chrony brand? I have an extra remote switch I made and parts for more.
:D

Thanks for everyone's input I have ordered the pro crony Digital! Mostly good reviews so I went with it!
Thanks again rev

Hey Rev.. spend the extra $50 and get the usb and software. You won't be sorry.

Bill what's the advantage?
-
it comes with a 20' cable (altho I only put it 12" from my muzzle) and it turns your laptop into a monitor and a remote control. Also, since you don't need to see the front of the chrony, you can make a sheild for it so that accidental miss don't put a hole in it where it's life used to be. With the laptop, you can print out your strings and graphs to your network printer. You can output data to things like excel and pdf. It basically put the whole thing right at your fingertips on your shooting bench. You can also just store the data in the chrony and D/L to your PC later. Lot's of advantages for $50. And the software comes with it. I also made a tripod for my from a camera tripod that I picked up at the flea market for $8

Hey PJ,
I have the same one but I cant get Windows 8.1 to recognize the dongle. Emailed factory and they claim its auto.
Oops, just remembered we have an old laptop with Win 7, thanks PJ.
Answering your post made me remember that moth balls laptop, big smile.
Be Well,
Gator

PJ,
It is likely you have already received your Crony.
Two minor tips,
1) any $20 camera tripod will support your Crony for use.
2) go online and print out user manual, much hander then using the disk for me at least.
Enjoy your new toy, lol.
Be Well,
Gator
PS I bought one of these to use as travel printer after my $100 HP died.
This one is dirt cheap and uses the paper for ink like the old Polaird Instamatics
Quality is ok but plenty good enough to print shoot figures. The printer company went out of business but the paper seems to be plentiful.

Didn't get a disk. I got paper!

I have the F-1 Chrony and use a data switch I made to page through the data.

The disk came with the USB remote cable. It has the software on it. At least in my case.
And yes, a flea market tripod makes a great adjustable stand. I picked one up for $8. The Chrony already has the threaded mounting hole in it.
I bought a couple 9v to AAA battery adaptors for a couple bucks each. They hold 6 AAA batteries and fit in the battery compartment in the Chrony. They extend the battery life like 10x. I'll see if I can find the link if someone don't beat me to it.
