A friend asked me to see if I could get this BB gun operational again. he had it as a kid and it has been stored in the garage for about 50 years. Totally frozen up with rust. I am about to take the action from the stock and soak it in PB Blaster to see if I can free the barrel up. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have one that I resealed. It's a fun little gun. It's pretty easy to reseal and you can get the parts needed from Bryan and Associates.

I have a V-350, are these the same thing?

Looking at the parts breakdown of the V350, it sure looks to be identical.

I have a working one of these needs a new spring but mine still shoots and it's a Canadian made one great fun giving it to know it alls and saying fire this one. Watching them trying to cock it so much fun.

I was looking at some other post about the V-350 and the thread about the worst air gun you have owned really got me. One of the comments went something like "Is it possible to have the best and worst in the same gun." I know exactly where the guy was coming from. My V-350 sprays bb's all over the place but it's hard to put down because it's so fun to shoot.

I agree. Mine probably has some internal issues but I haven't torn it open yet to check. The rear sight also broke off somewhere along the road, but it's fun to pick up and mess around with because of it's cool feel and slide action mechanism.

I doubt it has any problems inside that Pellgun oil can't fix. It's really a simple gun inside and there's not much to go wrong. All it needs is to be lubricated well. If it feeds bb's the way it's suppose to and shoots hard +- 300fps I wouldn't mess with it. You can get a new rear sight from Bryan and Associates for a very reasonable price. That old rifle will be even more fun with sights.

We were getting ready to order the resealing kit when we noticed another problem. When you load the BBs into the magazine through the hole in the top, the BBs will roll out the barrel when you tilt the gun down. Before tearing things apart, I'd sort of like to know what I am looking for here? Any suggestions?

You should take it apart before you order a kit. The Teflon seal on the piston may not need to be replaced and all you may need is some rubber O-rings you can get at a hardware store. If you do need the Teflon seal Bryan and Associates should have one. The reason the bb's are just falling out the end of the barrel is that there a little ball bearing that sits on a spring that if working properly holds the next bb in place. I took one of mine apart and just turned the spring end for end spring and replaced the ball bearing. That worked on the gun but you may have to replace the spring. The odds are good that the ball bearing is there. Be careful because it's a small ball bearing and it will get away from you. You can download the exploded view by google Crosman Manuals and downloading the file.

Isn't this the same gun that the Crosman M1 carbine was built on? Mine is still going strong after many years.

Yes the Crosman M1 is a dressed up V350. Those guns are really cool. If I ever get a chane to buy one at a decent price I'll jump on it.

Heres the one my Dad gave me when I was a kid about 50 years ago, he did the stock and peep sight for me. He just finished a Ruger 10/22 that looks simular.
-
Nice, I like the sling swivels. How does it group at 30'? I'm curious about how the peep sight improves accuracy?

i will have to shoot it next time my Grandson and myself shoot , that may be tonight. I figure I probably either lost or brock the original site very fast becouse I don't remember anything else ever being on the gun. I will post a picture of a target next time we shoot.

I had a V350 as a kid. Hauled it everywhere on my bicycle. Wouldn't try that today.

I am still hauling my Discovery .22 to the woods on the bicycle - been bicycle hauling the air rifles for probably 65 years now and counting.
