Title: New FTP900
Post by: Doorgunner70 on August 01, 2014, 01:18:54 PM
Received my new AA FTP900 yesterday. Will be mounting Sightron SIII 10-50X60 this weekend, if I can find mounts locally. Not sure what size mounts, riser I should use . Guess experimentation  is only way to find out.  Brand new to air guns, so learning curve is steep. Anyone shooting one of these, would appreciate any recommendations.  Took pictures but can't figure out how to attach.

Very nice choice of FT rifle and scope combo.

You can try offset front ring since the receiver might not be long enough to fit the Sightron scope.
Or try a 11mm to picatinny rail mount adapter and use regular weaver scope mount rings.

Thanks Leo,
I ordered the Steyr rail and Leupold 30mm QRW rings. The rings are not offset, so I hope they will work.

I think you are fine without the offset rings. The Steyr rail (compatible with Air Arms S400 & S500) has a nice cantilevered section to support very long scopes. A lot of field target shooters in Europe use that rail.
Hope you post some pictures and targets as well.

Thanks Don,
This is my first air rifle, so I am still collecting everything I need for FT.  I plan to order a Great White tank from Joe Brancato.  I work at a Naval Air Station and the Fire Dept. is directly across the street and they said they will fill my tank, so getting air will be easy. Will post pics if I can ever figure out how to do it.

This may help.  Found it in the announcement gate.

I agree you got a great rifle. I hope to see you post 1/2" ten shot groups out that rifle.
