Hi All
What pellets do you use in your Cometa fenix 400?, mine is a full power Spanish/Portuguese spec Cometa 5.5mm at 23 Joules and I am trying to find one that groups well.some info about pellets that are good for pest controlwould help as well. It would be interesting to see what pellets work well in a range of guns maybe we could have a pellet thread or is there already one? where members could list their guns and calibres and the pellets that work well?
thanks to all

tunznath try any of the JSB pellets. Try to stay between 14.3 and 18.1 grain. I have the Cometa Fenix 400 Premier Star which is the same rifle you have with an adjustable stock (which I don't use because I don't need to raise it.) Crosman premiers did not shoot well out of this gun. I don't use RWS pellets because of their poor ballistics, but the H&N copper pellets/Beemans work well too.

Thank you for the reply - I will try JSB, here we get the cometa branded JSB as well as the real JSB in the red tin, so I will try them both, along with the express , RS, heavy, and the stratton , and give some feedback - I found some gamo match and hunter here but the size varies - some fit tight and some are loose in the barrel so not that good but the gamo magnum grouped pretty well but even they were some tight some loose - another question did your rifle take a while to run in??

It did not take long for the gun to break in, maybe 100 pellets or so, but the first three pellets were very loud (22 LR loud.) They clearly detonated. The next 30 or 40 pellets dieseled pretty bad but not too bad after that. It appears that Cometa puts a lot of grease in these guns but mine settled in around 100 rounds. I cleaned the barrel after about 50 rounds and it does come pretty dirty from the factory. Overall I like the gun. Not very heavy and lots of power with good accuracy. The JSB 18.13gr pellets are the best I've found so far but I still have a lot more pellets to test.
