Title: Nothing is foolproof..I have proof
Post by: Joeryan on July 30, 2014, 04:02:32 PM
Long sad story short.. Borrowed my buddy's big springer ( hatsan 135 .22). Cause I'm finally gonna get the fox. So, I load a pellet, but don't cock the gun yet in order not to stress the spring. Waited an hour and a half. he  gave me a perfect shot too. ! Ok, so ya'll know what happened ! Fools are ingenious .

EDITED for rule #6 violations

Cock/Load it Man! You aren't hurting springs by leaving it cocked all day buddy.  Don't worry.
Better Luck next Time ;)

Kinda like buck fever and a lever action. By the time you stop cranking the lever reloading, you realize you never fired the first shot.
:)
Yep, won't hurt the spring to be cocked for a few hours. Months, yes. Hours, most likely not.

Reads like "I should of had a PCP thread "  :o
Oups, live and learn & the fox is none the wiser to what fate he missed out on either.

Games still on !!

My dad did something similar with a deer last year during muzzleloader.
He took the cap out to climb into the stand. Not 10 minutes later this 8 point comes charging through the woods, he whistles, deer stops quartering away at about 30 yards. He sights right on him and pulls the trigger, CLICK. He never did put the cap back in. This was later in the day after I managed to completely foul up the range estimation on what I swear was the same deer. Muzzle loaders have a lot more drop than I am used to with the 06. Hit the dirt under him and was just glad I did not get him in the brisket.
