I took the .20 R10 out shooting on Sunday and was a little "disturbed" with the results it produced. I had a hawke Sport HD 4-12 on it (I took off the simmons because I wanted the Mil-dots) and the rifle would put 3 or 4 pellets through a 1/4" hole at 30 yards, but then would give to shots that would be high and to the left with the JSB pellets. I tightened every screw on the stock, tried every hold I knew, and put the simmons back on. The only other conclusion I could come up with is that it was me-the shooter. Maybe it was just an off day for springers with me. Anyone have any other ideas?
Also, I am looking for a muzzlebrake that will fit the barrel. It is an R10 that was made pre-1989 and I just don't know the exact OD of the barrel. What are some good ones?

That happens to me on bad days and I have a large brake on it already.

Clean the barrel Nic?? Some different pellets??
Maybe you just have to get to know the lady a bit better bro??

Heavier pellets and concentrating on my hold helped my groups shrink. I cleaned the barrel, tightened every screw and changed the scope but in the end it was me. The gun needed heavier pellets but the pellets didn't help until my hold was correct. If your R10 hits hard heavier pellets will help.

Send to me for a full evaluation. ;D I had a .20 Santa Rosa, sold it. And wish I didn't.

Curious what did you do and the results?

I think I figured out the issue. I cleaned the barrel which I thought was the issue, and to my surprise the thing was spotless. After 4 patches they were coming out completely white.
I tried 7 different pellets, so I checked that off my list, and tightened all the screws so that was also removed from the list. I also switched the scope and got the same results.
This lead to the determination that it MUST have been ME, the SHOOTER who was blowing those beautiful 1/4" groups at 30 yards. I realized that I was using an inconsistent hold. I think I'll use some of Ed Canoles 100 bull targets to help me grow in consistency.
