I wonder if this has been discussed before. I needed a longer muzzle break for my ruger blackhawk elite. I had made one previously for another gun using metal pipe, it came out great but in addition to being time consuming it adds some weight. I started thinking about golf club grips as it seemed the inner diameter were similar to a airgun barrel. I stopped at an indoor flea market that has a golf shop with a large selection of grips. I got encouraged as a went through the different sizes and styles which would accommodate anyone's needs. I noticed one over sized grip that looked just like a classic sniper suppressor, just solid black rubber so I got that for just $7 "the shop owner was amused with my intentions for it". I ended up cutting off some length and tapering the end, after enlarging the exit hole all I had to do was work it on the barrel "it does go on snug"". The end result is visually pleasing and quite functional as I now have a longer thicker brake making the cocking process much easier and the rubber feels nice. With so many sizes and colors it's not hard to see the possibilities in golf grips.

Great idea, never thought of that!! I am definitely going to check that out for a project I'm working on 8)Looks great

Sure looks nice, what's the exit hole size? and does it make the gun any quieter?
-
i like the " equalizer " logo on the end. unintentional, but, a nice touch.

Very cool idea!

the hole was small when i got it and I enlarged it enough to allow a pellet to pass though. it doesnt affect noise at all.

I bet some washers almost the size of the grip could help the sound. Slice a small vertical opening in the side of the grip, smaller than the outside diameter of the washer. Then force the washer through to make baffles. If the size is right the slot you put it in might keep it perpendicular to the path of the pellet. Repeat at multiple places and you're set.

That looks surprisingly good!

An excellent idea. When I try it I think I'm going to shoot groups before and after, just to see if the resilient material absorbs harmonic vibrations that might affect accuracy.
On my guns that already had brakes I sleeved the rest of the barrel with vinyl tubing, and as you said, "it does go on snug" (sounds like a similar process). For lubrication I have tried various kinds of greases, spray silicone, vaseline, and dish soap - but the best by far was K-Y jelly. You just have to remember to put it back before somebody asks what you're doing with it in the garage.
Again, a great idea.

LOL. Save the KY for other use. If too tight you can use an air gun and compressor. Shoot it at the contact point and it "blows" the grip to a larger diameter so you can wiggle it on. I do bike grips this way.
On flip side I wouldn't try this elsewhere in place of KY. Every tool has a use. LOL

Lol...you used blow, ky, and tool in the same post. Lol. Sorry couldn't resist.
As long as it got on there...and it works

I re-grip my own clubs, and simply use lighter fluid. Squirt it in and coat all the inside, then pour it onto the barrel and quickly push it on. Works well and evaporates in minutes.
Tip: Plug the hole before you squirt it in. That air pocket helps you during installation.
