Title: Logun Penetrator .22/ Hatsan AT44-10
Post by: Bwalton on July 18, 2014, 09:31:02 PM
I had some time to play around with the Logun Penetrator .22 20.5gr pellets that Hatsan now bags. Not bad @ 25 yards and the numbers on chairgun were impressive being a AT444-10 short, the longs should do very well with this weight.......
My avg was 865fps for 34ftlb. shot a nice group @ 25 yards I have not tested it @ 50 and above yet. If it proves accurate at long range this will be a nice pellet. 20.5gr Vs JSB 18.13gr and H&N 21.4gr it is a real nice go between delivering both speed and power.
I think that a AT44-10 Long could tune these @ 900fps EZ giving a modest 36.8ftlb with enough speed to fly it very well, but at the same time when I put in the numbers of JSB 18.13gr Vs Logun 20,5gr inside chairgun,  it is not worth the switch......
JSB 18.13 @ 100yards = 631.4fps @ 16.04ftlb
Logun 20.5gr @ 100yards = 606.5fps @ 16.74ftlb

So it will depend on which is more consistent.......JSB is hard to beat

I do have to revise  all my statements, After talking it over with Bob the Loguns produce much more after I tested the BC of the pellet.

BC .0621
850fps
34ftlb
ES 13
.175 ctc @ 25yards

I had tested this pellet before I blue printed my barrel, and was not very good. In fact I sold two containers of them and keep one, and glad that I did. After blue printed my barrel my gun now shoots a lot of different pellets very well :o
As you notice in the video the first two shots was hole in hole as well as the last shot. Shots number 3, and 4 were just a hair off, maybe it was me or the wind. No sand bag or bench rest and it did very well. Now I have to take it out to 50,75, and 100yards. I like the pellet weight 20.5gr seems like an ideal weight for the power of this gun.
