I'm gonna be looking into getting a BT65 in a week or so & I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the safety is automatic or manual on your BT65.
I've been reading some reviews and some say auto, then others say manual.
I'm not sure if the safety mechanism's action is dependent on the bolt position, if that makes sense.
Just need to know before I make the trip to the gun shop, because I'd really prefer a manual safety.
Any insight would be helpful

Ricky, the safety is Automatic on my BT65 Elite.
-
Your side bolt sets the safety. If you take it off you can manually reset it.
PS don't believe that myth that she "won't" double load pellets. I have seen two holes appear in a target more then once,
Enjoy

Now this is what I don't get.
The download of the owners manual booklet & the spec sheet both say "manual safety".
I wonder if the rb is manual & the sb is auto, or if they're all auto safety & that "manual" designation is just a typo
peep at this

The only turn off I have with this gun so far is the location of the safety. Its not ideal, but its not a total deal breaker either.

I managed to double load a BT-65 once myself. It's easily done. Not a very good group either.
-
Ken, did you load one then take the magazine out reload it and cock it again, or did you cock it then spin the mag and load a second one?
-
I have also managed to load two pellets, and it seemed to happen because the bolt was not pulled all the back properly. Fortunately I guessed correctly and used a rod to push the two pellets back out before doing any damage to my LDC. The safety location does not thrill me either, but like you said it is not a showstopper.

HATSANS user manuals are wacked. I own the 125 Mod TH, the AT44W-10, the BT65 Elite and the Galation lV. They all
have auto safeties.
My new Galation shows the actual rifles on the covers.
The trigger adjust drawings are at least 2 triggers back from the one I have,
MY GUESS,
if the safety is up on the rear breech area it will probably have a trigger adjust with 2 screws on trigger and one under.
The Galation has the safety on the trigger guard, and has 2 adjustments on trigger and one in the trigger guard.
Total wack.
Be Well,
Gator

Thanks much for the feedback fellas. Much appreciated.
Due to the position of the safety, I already know the first mod I'm gonna make on that gun as soon as I get it.
Gonna convert that safety to manual only.
I considered getting the Galatian as an alternative, but I REALLY like the BT platform, particularly the elite.
