was eye balling Mac's site today and hadn't noticed this before .....
hes selling Crosman .22 Cal Barrels with the option of a Mac1 accuracy or power prep !!! and i assume both . the accuracy prep is very reasonable since he includes " a trigger engagement spring, extended bolt probe, polished leade into the rifling and hand done crown. I clean and ready barrel for installation. " for only $30 . he charges $20 for the 12 and 14 inch barrel and $25 for the 16 , 18 or 24 inch barrel . and his S&H charges are very reasonable @ only $7 for the 24 incher . anyhow ...... here's the link and Mac'1 description

" ...... Crosman Barrels are quite good and we can do our preps to the barrel to make it shoot great and you can DIY install. What we do to make guns Accurate & Powerful can be done to a barrel with the appropriate bits being supplied so you can be the chief mechanic.
You can have barrels from 12-24". You can add Gen II brake and/or Disco Front sight.
Accuracy Preps include a trigger engagement spring, extended bolt probe, polished leade into the rifling and hand done crown. I clean and ready barrel for installation.
PowerPreps include a delrin hammer spring guide & custom breech seal. The barrel port is ovaled and the barrel connection to the breech seal is altered for higher flow and improved sealing. The Custom breech seal replaces the two factory parts.
The Disco front sight is bored so it slips over the barrel and can be fitted aft of the GEN II Brake.
Gen II Brakes slip over the barrel by 2" and add 3.5" to OA length ...... "
that power prep looks dang nice for the price too . he includes a few NICE upgraded parts with each mod to !!! most of the parts would cost what he's charging for the preps (or more) and when considering the reputation of his work ..... these deals are more like steals ! throw in a crown saver and it's a even $100 shipped with both preps and all the parts (disco site and gen2 break not included) for a 16 , 18 or 24 incher !!
thanks Mac !!! ;D

Thanks for the addaboy! The smooth leade and extended Probe included in the accuracy prep is the key to getting the accuracy out of the Crosman Barrels.

Hey Tim, I am looking to get a 2289 - will these barrels fit? And any idea when they may be in stock?
I'd be in the market for a steel breech too, and possibly a few other basic upgrades you may recommend.
Thanks!

great to know. tagging this for when I need one (need a little more testing on the stock barrel)
thank you

$80 for a fully prepped 12" barrel is too steep for me. Why not just get an LW barrel for less?

George-
Keep in mind this is .22. You can't get a LW .22 from Crosman, and not for under $100 elsewhere.

I know Crosman only has LW in 177. I find their 22 barrels to be accurate enough for my needs in stock form. Tim's price for the bone stock barrels is good. Nice to have another source. ;D

if you deduct the cost of the extra parts he includes (if you plan to get them) that mitigates the price quite a bit . then add in that both ends of the barrel are professionally perfected by a master airgun tuner the price seems much more reasonable IMO . for someone that can't do the work or the confidence to this is a great option . the power tune doesn't really interest me but the accuracy prep tune seems like a great deal ...... i wish this had been available when i ordered my 24 inch barrel from crosman last year :(
everything isn't for everybody .

Can one of these be used on my girls new 2240?

absolutely .

Yeah, but do you really want her out-shooting you? ;D

She is doing good at shooting under 10 yards. I want to see her advance more. She is pretty good with my AA S400. but she has to have it on a bench to shoot it.

Choked LW .22 BLANK retails for $120. Then you start machining

Will these work for a prod? My new one just shotguns every pellet i've tried.
i have a new barrel coming from crosman, but i would be willing to pay for a nicely prepped one. My synrod has a gaska barrel (i love it) but i don't think he is selling any more right now...
-
I would be curious if these would work on the Prod or the Marauder as well?
Does the accuracy prep impact what pellets the gun likes? Right now both my Prod and Marauder only like H&N FTT (5.55).
Thanks.

I need one twice as long as the longest one, and in .25cal.
But even 36" would do.

I can prep P-Rod barrels. I don't have any in stock. The Steel breech arrangement holds the same barrel as the Plastic breech guns but is different to all the Repeater guns with barrel to bolt seal in the barrel.
