I had a 3 day weekend away from work anyway. LOL
Friday Teresa and I spent the day working in the yard and in my shop. She had me hauling shrub trimmings so I didn't really get much shop cleanup time in. Saturday we took her Mom to her place at the lake. We kidnapped her from her assisted living facility for a day out visiting old river rat friends. We had a very good day there. Then came Sunday. We were invited to my sister's to enjoy a BBQ feast to celebrate the 4th and my brother-in-law's birthday.
My niece, her husband and their 3 kids were in from GA to visit. As we were preparing our late lunch feast, she asked me if we were going to be home a bit later. I said yep, what's up? She wanted to know if they could come over and shoot airguns. Huh???? To tell you the truth, I did not know and actually THOUGHT they were an anti-gun family. :)
So I never pressed the issue with her.
I said well, YEAH!!!! Hey, better idea. While you guys finish setting things up here, I'll run home and grab some shooting instruments. :)
I only live about 2 miles from Sis. So I drove home and loaded my truck up. I grabbed 8-9 airguns, safety glasses, air tank, ammo and a bunch of targets. Including my stand with golf tees to set paintballs on. I thought if we shot enough, they MIGHT get lucky once or twice. LOL
After the fantastic meal, we all piled out back and set up targets at 10-25 yards. Set up chairs and tables that I filled up with gun rests, ammo and airguns of all types and sizes. I handed out safety glasses to everyone and gave a short gun range safety lesson. After I saw the nods of acceptance and the expression on their faces, I soon found out that this was not their first range experience. LOL
But it WAS their first introduction to airguns. They had no clue the size, weight and power a BB gun had. Needless to say, it didn't take very much instruction on proper hold and eye relief of scopes to get these guys on target. Although this WAS also their first experience with scoped shooting as well as airguns. Patrick is 14 and was quite shocked after feeling an actual recoil from a BB gun. LOL
Katherine, who is 10, was shooting my CZ-200 and after getting her adjusted with the eye relief and AO of the scope, she let loose a round and blasted a Shoot-N-C bullseye at 25 yards with the first shot. The combination of a fantastic airgun along with her great uncle's instruction I guess showed. HeeHee
No, all credit to her for mastering it so quickly. And then, she started busting paintballs. Wow....a natural shooter.
We all shot for 2-3 hours and just had a great time. "Ruby" my .25 Condor SS was a big hit. The Air Ordinance SMG-22 was also a show stopper. Everyone had a literal blast with it. I think I have converted and added a family of 5 new believers in the value of airguns and family. Here are a few photos of us having a grand time. I hope all of you got to enjoy the 4th as well as I did!!!

It almost brought tears to my eyes that you had such a good time. The most wonderful experience is when I shoot with my youngest. My second youngest does not see any sense in it, and my daughter gave it up when she out shot her boyfriend.
It was also good of you to spend a day with your mother in law, God only know how much I miss my own mother. Their days are numbered, so each day you can see them or give them a kind word is not only a blessing to them but to you as well.

Where did you get the plastic case to hold all the pellet tins? Looks like it is perfect for its purpose!

Life in America can't get much better than that !!! Good for you stepping up to put a few more shooters in our country,lord knows we need them !!!Air guns are so user friendly that I can't think of a better tool to get new shooters on board.

We discussed these in another thread and I believe I counted 33 tins and a few boxes of ammo would fit this one. And some supplies like Co2 cards, container of Balistol and some Goo-Gone.

thanks Dave! I am north of the border and lived in the US till ten years ago! I will definitely stop in to pick up one next time I go see family!

I saw this gun on Amazon earlier. Kind of want to buy it and see what happens to a bunny or squirrel after a burst or two from this bad boy...
