I got the .25 Marauder because I wanted some real knock down power. After shooting it for a few months all I can say is WOW. This thing hits like a tank. The problem I run into is there is to much penetration. I live in town and when the pellet hits a bird or squirrel the pellet keeps going! I have turned the marauder down and there is just to much pellet for small game. Not to mention the sound of the pellet smacking a tree. It is Loud!
It was modded before I got it with 10# spring, modified gauge block, aftermarket barrel, shoots about 1000 fps (says the previous owner) with 25 grain pellets.
I am very happy with my .177 Gamo Whisper Xtream except it kicks so hard it breaks the scope or it inches it's way down the mount and I have to remount/sight the scope every 25-30 shots.
So the other day I had the bright idea that I could just buy a new barrel for my Marauder. After a quick inspection I would need a lot more then a barrel.
Before I get to much time I invested into this idea I thought I would run it by the experts.
How much would it cost to switch the Marauder from a .25 to a .177?
Would it be worth the time and effort?

I'm not an expert, but I believe the .25 has a different power plant than the .177 and .22. Your shooting 25 gr at 1000 fps. Not sure what needs to be done to "tune it down" to get a reasonable velocity for .177. I'm sure there are folks with more knowledge, but something to think about.

Buy a used or remanufactured .177.
A Airguns advertises factory reman's for $335 including shipping.
Then you have the best of both worlds.

Turn the velocity screw all the way CW...
