Title: Career II 707 Advice
Post by: Tecumseh415 on July 01, 2014, 07:49:41 PM
Hello everyone,

I am pretty new to Airgunning and have been shooting my Benjamin Trail NP XL for a while now. I decided that it was time to move up to PCP. So I looked and looked and looked on Yellow and here and finally found and bought a .25 Career II 707. The person I bought it from said that he has been storing it at 1500 PSI and got it all resealed last year though he didn't get it tuned. I bought it primarily for hunting primarily mid sized game since I already have a pretty accurate break barrel for the smaller stuff.

I am wondering if there is anything that people think I should know about this particular gun, or Korean guns in general. I only read good reviews of the Career line but am looking for any advice.

Also, he sent it with a Tasco 3-9x40 scope on there which I have read is okay. I've been thinking about putting the Leapers UTG Bug Buster 3-9 on it, any thoughts about scopes?

Thanks everyone,
Dillon

First off, we need pics...lol.
Second, a Bug Buster should be enough.  Are you hunting out to 50 yards or will you try further distances?

Joe

P.S.  Welcome to the forum.

First off congrats on your  purchase. I have a carbine model of the same  gun. I bought it  knowing it had a leak. After it arrived I sent it to Will Piatt to reseal and tune. It's a hunting gun and very powerful. It shoots cast 50gr.slugs at 850fps/83fpe. I mounted  a leapers 3-9x32  short scope and a sling. I also painted it  with bedliner to make it less prone  to scratches.(http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/turbonoma1998/Airgunning/DSC02504_zps7f815e74.jpg) (http://s160.photobucket.com/user/turbonoma1998/media/Airgunning/DSC02504_zps7f815e74.jpg.html)

Here are a couple pictures of the gun.

I am also considering one the lower end Leapers SWAT scopes since the side adjust seems like it would be way easier.

Thanks,
Dillon

Turbo   really like the bed liner look on your rifle and is that an adjustable butt plate also.

Turbonoma,

I really like the bedliner on yours, I might have to do that too!

I've been thinking about sending it to Will Piatt but need the $$ first. Haha. Since tuning, what is your shot count at at 83 FPE and about how loud would you say it is? I've also been considering getting an LDC from Neil Clauge but again, the $$. Haha.

Thanks,
Dillon

I usually  shoot what's in the magazine and it's enough to take down my prey. It's strictly a hog hunter. I got an ldc from Roy Kasten.

Regret selling my Career. Okay know this...accurate, hunting trigger(lol), very powerful and most importantly VERY LOUD!

Also the treads are not 1/2x20.

Thanks turbo I will definitely check that out. I also bought it for hog hunting though I am not seeing as many hogs as I thought I might here.

No quiero ser ni decir nada que es mal educado, pero presumo que habla espanol tambien? Es de puerto rico.

I am talking with Neil Clague who I happen to live near actually so I definitely plan to quiet it down. Thanks about the treads, I still need to check what they are.

Now, I have another concern with this rifle but I'm not sure whether or not it should continue in this thread since it is about the pump. I researched and, I thought, successfully cleaned the pump but apparently not. It doesn't go bast like 60 psi on the pump and I can hear and feel air leaking usually when I'm coming down but also, sometimes, when going up. Any thoughts on what that might be or where I should put this question?

Thanks,
Dillon

When my gun arrived it was leaking from the gauge. Will replaced the seals and o rings problem  solved.
