Post by: zelmo on June 30, 2014, 04:11:53 PM
Anyone done a conversion on this rifle? Does any of the crosman nitro pistons fit?

Even if I understood your question I couldn't answer it. All I can tell you is the Benjamin Genesis is already a gas ram. The now discontinued Remington Genesis is a springer. Which one do you have??

I have the discontinued springer version.

I can't tell you for sure but it's very likely that you can do the conversion with about $40 in parts from Crosman. Even though parts for the current Genesis are not yet available by that name it's likely that the gas ram, piston and retainer at the back of the compression tube have all been used in another Crosman or Benjamin gun.  If you want to use a stock ram it will likely just be a matter of figuring out what parts to order and calling them up.

Here's the EVP for your gun if you don't have it.

Unfortunately the Remington numbers don't cross directly to Crosman/Benjamin numbers but with a little research and measuring you should be able to find out what you need. If you haven't already then use the Search function in this forum, someone has likely been down this path before.

That said, have you thought about just replacing the spring with a higher performance spring?

Yes it is doable for about $50.00 in parts.
