Just put in my order with PA. I should have my new city gun here on 7/02. :D
-
My Disco arrived from PA at about 09:30 this morning. It shipped from PA around 15:00 yesterday when FedEx picked it up. Much faster than CCS shipped my 2400KT.
Thinking I wish I got the Hatsan now. Took my 6.5"TKO off my 2400KT and it looks like I will have to sand a flat spot on the TKO, the dust cap, or both so the dust cap will fit.
With my COPD the hand pump is kicking my butt. Forty strokes and I'm at 1000psi. I pump 20 strokes and need to get my wind back as I am played out. I may have to get a scuba tank. I'm PATI advance open water(1976) but sold my equipment long ago. The wood looks like they put one coat of stain on it and did not rub it out. The pump handle looks like styrafoam melted or was fused into it. Will report back later after mounting scope and zero.

congrats on the new gun
i did mine in sets of 25 pumps before i took a break, partially to let the pump cool and mostly because i am a lazy SOB ;D

My Nikon 3-9x40 BDC rimfire scope has a UTG .22/airgun mount with picatinny/weaver rail adapter using weaver x-high 1" rings. I lost my right eye and shoot right handed using my left eye with the scope mounted high. After mounting this setup on my Disco I was able to hit or move a 1" flat piece of blue plastic in a field from my back window at about
75 feet away with no adjustment. I have to be careful of the neighbors, and the cop station is on the other side of the block from me. I'm on the westside 5 minutes from Downtown Cincinnati on one of the hills overlooking the valley. Lots of traffic and people to watch out for.
Yes indeed Geoffrey. These hand pumps will give you a workout.

Congrats!

On the TKO website they show you how to modify your dust cap

Thanks Tommy. I just finished up on the dust cap using my Dremel and sand paper. After discharging around 15 CPHP14.3s, I pumped her back up. Now I see that the quick connect on the pump flex's the barrel a little as the TKO in in the way again. Do I need be concerned with this?
-
Just grind off a little more. You do not want to flex that barrel
Here is mine Ineed to address the o-ring but it works fine

Thanks Tommy. I.m looking at a Ballistic calculator now and see my scope center height to bore center line is 2".
If I zero it at 10 yards I should be +2.48" high at 50 yards and -0.11 at 70 yards and still have 15fpe at 683fps.
I use the CPHP and still have 4 tins of 500 unopened.
With the TKO it sounds like opening a champagne bottle when I discharge it.
I need to hang a target at 35ft and see where I'm at.
-
Ok I,m back. Summer school and heavy traffic slowed my re-zeroing. I,m getting .75 groups at 35ft which is good for me. About the same I was getting with my 2289g and the CCS 2400KT.
I'm ready to try it at 26 yards when things cool down. That 90F air is to hot for comfort for me. I may wait till morning (7am) when its at 71F before I start shooting again.

I've had my Disco in .177 since February. I started with the pump, but quickly moved to a used SCUBA tank - much easier :)
I have a TKO and just leave the dust cap off.
I've done lots of fiddling with the Disco - including the 3 screw trigger mod, RVA, long probe bolt and 2 barrel bands. The rear band is in front of the breech (well, in front of the pressure gauge).
It usually shoots well, but throws the occasional flyer just to tick me off. With the RVA, it's dialed down to around 12fpe and seems to like Meisterkuglen 8.2gr wad cutters best. Oh - I did put in a Challenger port drilled to .090 as part of the 12fpe down-tune.
I would like it to shoot a little better. The flyers bug me and I'm 99% sure it's the gun and not me. I now have a mini-lathe and I will probably face off the front of the barrel followed by a brass bolt and valve grinding compound to re-crown the barrel.
Enjoy yours!

Steve, maybe take a close look at the pellets. Roll them across a flat surface to make sure the ones you are going to shoot are not bent or out of round. Even the expensive pellet have some bent ones now and then. That could cause some inaccuracy.
-
Steve, I wear glasses for reading. I can barely see a .177 pellet let alone trying to get one in the hole. LOL What Bicycleman said. A bent skirt would get by me.
-
I wear tri focals and some hemostats are needed

I use my Dremel on mine with the sanding drum or the grinding stone about the same size. Works perfectly.
Just remove the O-ring before you do it, then put the O-ring back on once finished.

Thanks gents.
I have decent close vision, seldom need my readers - I haven't detected any bent skirts, but I can't say I've been looking for them.
I guess I'll need to do an inspection and select 25 or 50 and see if I have flyers
Thanks for the tips,
Steve
