Title: Is it ok to drill and tap a shallow hole on the plastic breech of my 1377?
Post by: philo426 on June 19, 2014, 01:05:18 PM
I plan to replace the stock sight with a better adjustable sight.I can use the rear screw hole but I need to drill another hole for the sight mount. Will it cause problems if I drill and tap a shallow hole to stabilize the sight?

I just looked at a breech I've got sitting around and there shouldn't be as long you don't interfere with the path of the bolt. At least as far as I can see.

What sight are you planning to use?

While your at it also drill and tap a 8x32 hole for your barrel this will help hold the barrel in place  just don`t over tighten any screws or set screws or you`ll pull out the threads

i am using the sight from the trail NP that i replaced with the daisy electronic point sight.I drilled and tapped the front sight and carefully tightened the front screw.Seems pretty solid thus far and after i sight it in i think it will be a an improvement.    (http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee54/philo426/001_zps1e99ec11.jpg) (http://s235.photobucket.com/user/philo426/media/001_zps1e99ec11.jpg.html)
