Post by: RedRiderF26 on June 18, 2014, 05:52:56 AM
I want to do some turkey hunting this fall. Can anybody who lives around turkeys chime in on where is a good place to go and a good place to camp as well ?

I guess no one wants to reveal their secret turkey hunting spots!

How about hunting jacks? You have any in your neck of the woods?

I guess not. Some guys on another hunting forum told me that there are wild turkeys in San Diego, around Lake Henshaw... So I may give that a try. We have rabbits here in town, but the closest big hunting spot is the santa rosa wilderness, south of indio. There are jacks and quail there.

I know a lot of Cali hunters... good group of guys... but you won't get a lot out of them about turkey spots. Apparently competition is tight on public land for turkeys out there.

Be glad you can hunt them with AGs there though. One of the few things Cali hunting regs seem to get right. I wish we could AG hunt them here.
